Laura's Goals

Last but not least!  I am inspired by everyone's goals and think that mine are very similar to yours.  First of all, I need to spend more time with God, so that may mean reading or praying or singing but just more!  He gives me peace when nothing else can and guidance that I don't doubt when I'm certain its from Him.
Second, I want to be more positive about everything, church, work, myslef, friends, Blake, money...everything!  There is just no use focusing on the negative so I'm done with it!  Part of that means being aware of who and what I'm talking about and being sure that my words are uplifting. Also, I need to talk and think about myself a little less!
And finally, I'd like to continue running 3-4 days a week.  Everythings better when I'm running, I feel better, sleep better, manage my time better, eat better, think better... It's just silly not to do it! Also, I want to be intentional about making things we do for fun active things not passive.
Hopefully that includes some length of run with my favorite 3 women!  I love you guys and I'm so very thankful for you.

Mom's Goals

HI, girls!  I love this!  Here are a couple of goals I am hereby setting for myself:  I plan to up my workouts from (usually) three times a week to four times.  I want to run/walk the 8K with my daughters.  I want to lose five pounds by the end of Janyary. There!  Now that I've written them down, I feel committed!
I am still trying to come up with spiritual goals, and I will share those when I figure it out.  Whatever I do, I'm going  to read and pray (especially for the Phillips, Moores, and Millers) every day.
I hope I do this right; I'm learning!

New Year's Running--Alicia's Reply

I like the idea of the 8K--5 miles sounds like a good distance to train for.  Josh and I set several of our goals together, but a couple of them are individual, too.  Here they are.
Spiritual:
~Develop a close-knit Life Group by hosting good sessions and following up with group members throughout the week.
~Consistently have a purposeful individual Bible study going on and pray together every
 day.
Financial:
~Pay off all debt to our parents.
Marriage:
~Plan one fun couple activity each month--camping, movies, visiting somebody, etc.  We
just need to be purposeful about doing recreational stuff together.
Fitness:
~Exercise 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes and train for at least one race.  Thanks
for the jump start, Kelli!
Career:
~Become a certified district trainer for Kagan Cooperative Learning.
~Spend less time at school and grading at home.

I like hearing about everyone's goals so that we can ask each other about the things we've determined to focus on this year.  You are the best sisters and mom I could hope for!

New Year's running~ by Kelli

Hey,  Mom & Sisters!  I keep forgetting to leave a signature so that anyone looking can tell who wrote the post.  So do we want to start looking for appropriate races to work towards together?
Here is a link to the 2011 races in Springfield.  I thought that would be the best place to start looking since it is a 1/2 way point & home for 2 of us!

From first glance at the calendar, the 8K on March 12th stands out, it is a good distance (IMO) & it is to benefit Holland elementary.  There are a lot of 5 & 10Ks out there as well....
And of course we could branch out to look at other locations too.

Does anyone have goals for this next year that they want to share?

Mine are to focus on the many blessings & positives in my life, including my spouse, home, family, body, & relationship with God.
My 2nd goal is to take better care of the things I have- I need to better organize my closet so that my shoes don't scuff each other, my purses the same, and my clothes in a way that I can clearly see what I have so I use them all.  Also I want to get things I have that I like altered & get rid of stuff I don't wear.  So instead of buying new stuff with my spending money I want to spend more of it on caring for & enhancing what I've already got.  Sheesh, that is the lesser goal but took more explaining I think.
Also I've got the ongoing goal of being really healthy which is just working out at least 4X a week & minimizing unhealthy food choices.
