When I ran cross country in high school I figured out that the best strategy to keep me moving fast was to just think about getting to the next landmark as quickly as I could. I'd start at Jefferson thinking about getting to the green footbridge, then think about getting past Steak and Shake, then to Dayton Street, and so on until I was crossing the green bridge on my way back to Kickapoo.
I think that New Year's resolutions are hard to keep because they span such a large chunk of time. I might be better off making New Month's resolutions instead. So here's my list for December:
1. I will exercise at least 5 times each week, for at least 30 minutes.
2. I won't eat sweets except at social gatherings, and I'll limit my intake there.
3. I'll drink 8 glasses of water and take my vi-tis every day.

Sounds like a good plan, Alicia.
ReplyDeleteSmaller goals work better for me too.
